The research work of the members of our Associate Unit has a unifying theme: our belief in the power of mathematics to guide and drive the solution of physical problems. So, we do not think of ourselves as mathematical physicists but, better, mathematicians tackling problems in applied sciences as well as physicists using mathematics in the best possible way.
