The Modelling Week

(July 21 - 28, 2013)

The students are distributed in international teams, and each Instructor introduces the problem to his team.

The instructors will answer questions related to the nature of the solution required. Then, the teams are to find suitable mathematical models. In most cases, numerical simulations will be necessary; knowledge of C, C++, MATLAB, or some others languages or packages, will help. If the simulations are not satisfactory, the mathematical model must be changed, or refined. Thus, it is expected an iteration process until the results are satisfactory to the instructors.

At the end of the week, each team will present its results to the other participants, to all the instructors, and to the ECMI Educational Committee. The teams will be requested to write the reports, which will be published in the proceedings.
